Well if you know our pup Tegan, you know that she suffers from pretty nasty allergies. They are typically not a problem in the winter, but given the warm weather that keeps popping up in February, my poor Tegan is suffering earlier than usual. She gets "hot spots" which are red inflamed spots on her stomach, and she is always itching her paws. This is treatable with Benadryl (which makes her droopy) and oatmeal baths. In the past she has been on an antibiotic, but her allergies are getting better with age.
Waiting on the vet
I thought her allergies had struck her again when she was waking up with her eyes matted and itching at them all day. It was frustrating because Benadryl was not working, and I could tell she did not feel well. Off to the vet we went. Turns out her eyes are extremely inflamed, red, and irritated. The vet said she has basically itched them so much that she gave herself a little infection. Thankfully she did not tear her eye which he said happens often. On top of that, Tegan also has another infection. She will be treated with antibiotics and hopefully will be back to her crazy self soon.
Hopefully she will feel better soon!
